3X Krazy Biography

3X Krazy Biography

West Coast gangsta rap trio 3X Krazy rose from Oakland alongside a small wave of other similar-minded groups during the mid-'90s and retained its hardcore slant throughout the decade as its group members broke away for respective solo careers. Comprised of B.A., Agerman, and Keak da Sneak, 3X Krazy debuted in 1995 with the Sick-O EP, which depicted the members in straight jackets on the cover. Two years later, 3X Krazy returned with its full-length debut, Stackin Chips (1997), which featured big-name guests Yukmouth and E-40. Released by Noo Trybe, which had major-label affiliations with Virgin at the time, Stackin Chips won 3X Krazy a significant fan base on the West Coast, and the group responded with two more albums: Immortalized (1999) and Real Talk 2000 (2000). At this point, the group members began breaking away for solo ventures, Keak da Sneak's being the most productive. In the meanwhile, two best-of collections appeared, 20th Century (2000) and Best of 3x Krazy, Vol. 2 (2002), both of which were spotty and non-comprehensive.

3X Krazy was formed in 1994 and were signed to Str8 Game Records. The groups debut album Sick-0 was released in 1995, and although not a commercial success, the group still managed to attract major record label, Virgin Records who signed the group in 1996. 3X Krazy's only released for Virgin was 1997's Stackin' Chips, which would prove to be the groups most successful released, making it to 136 on the Billboard 200, 28 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and 6 on the Top Heatseekers album charts. The group would later release 1999's Immortalized and and 2000's Real Talk 2000 before disbanding. 3X Krazy reunited in 2003 to release their fifth album Flowamatic-9 and the groups sixth album, Roots of Hyphy is due on March 26, 2008. All three memmbers have pursued solo careers, B.A. and Agerman have each released six albums, while Keak Da Sneak has released over 20 albums.
