Charli Baltimore is the stage name of Tiffany Lane (born August 16, 1974), a Grammy nominated female rapper. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her stage name is taken from Geena Davis's character in the film The Long Kiss Goodnight.Lane was born to a German father and an African American mother but mainly raised by her elder half-sister, Yolanda. Lane would eventually graduate from Peirce College and became a certified paralegal. Lane also has two daughters, India and Sianni. Lane met The Notorious B.I.G. in the summer of 1995. She had a romantic relationship with B.I.G. (Lane confirms the rumored relationship in an interview with AskMen.com.) B.I.G. introduced her to Lance "Un" Riviera, who signed her and Cam'ron to his new label called Untertainment.
She made her first appearance in the music industry in 1996 with Junior M.A.F.I.A.'s "Get Money" video. Her first video was in 1997 with the hit "Money" featured on the Woo movie soundtrack. Lane was also referenced by rapper Jay-z in his song the "Allure" on "The Black Album" when he said, "All the Christy's in every city and Tiffany Lane's were all hustlers in love with the same thang...". With collaborators such as Cam'ron and N.O.R.E., Lane recorded her debut album Cold As Ice which featured tracks like "Money," "Pimp Da 1 u Love," "N.B.C.," and "Stand Up. After being delayed several times due to gradual friction between Lane and the label, Cold As Ice was eventually released promotionally in 1999, but never released to the public. After a five-year hiatus, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records'(later renamed to The Inc. Records) by CEO Irv Gotti. After constant album delays, she left the label. Lane has made appearances in songs such as "Down 4 U," "Down Ass Chick," "The Last Temptation" and "Rain On Me." In 2002 she earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rap Solo Performance, for her single "Diary". Lane is now in the studio with Scott Storch. The first single released will be "Lose It", which samples Yazoo's "Situation".[citation needed] Charli will soon be featured on Remy Ma's new album PunisHer and past label mate Black Child's Ghetto Gospel Album. Due also in early 2008, she will be featured on Mưa's Liberation. Charli is re-signing with The Inc Records who failed to release her 2nd album "The Diary (You Think You Know)" as confirmed on an interview with Wendy Williams
