Yung Joc was discovered by Russell "Block" Spencer after crafting a monstrous street buzz throughout his hometown of Atlanta with the street anthems "It's Going Down" and "I Know You See It". These tracks galvanized the Atlanta scene around Block's burgeoning Block Entertainmnest imprint label that is a partnership with music mogul P. Diddy's,Bad Boy South the southern imprint of Bad Boy Entertainment. In 2006, Yung Joc released his debut album New Joc City. The first single, "It's Goin' Down", was a breakout hit it charted at #3 on the billboard top 100 and #1 on the R&B chart. This single was produced by Nitti. His second single, "I Know You See It" was a success, charting at #17 on the top 100 chart. His third single, "1st Time", however, was a failure compared to the success of the others. This song features Marques Houston and the video version added Trey Songz. Guest appearance on the album included Boyz N Da Hood, Cheri Dennis, Marques Houston, and many others. It is certified platinum, selling a million copies in the U.S.
Yung Joc's famous featured on numerous other artists' singles, most notably Danity Kane's "Show Stopper", Lil Boosie's "Zoom", & T-Pain's "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')". Yung Joc released his second album, "Hustlenomic$", on August 28th 2007. Guest appearances included The Game, Jim Jones, Bun B, Young Dro, Trick Daddy, Diddy, Jazze Pha, & the newly recruited member of Boyz N Da Hood, (replacing Young Jeezy) Gorilla Zoe. The first single from the album "Coffee Shop" featuring Gorilla Zoe was a modest success. Joc's second single from Hustlenomics "Bottle Poppin'", also features Gorilla Zoe. There was also a video released for "Gettin' to Da Money". The album was a commercial failure compared to his previous effort, selling about 69,000 copies in its first week and quickly dropping off the billboard charts.
